Akashi whiskey, on this "Meisei" cuvée (literally "celebrity" in Japanese), is a limited edition of Akashi whiskey, specially developed for the French market.
Unlike the "standard" version, this "blended whiskey" is not made from 30% single malt aged in American oak barrels but from 45%. This gives it more elegance, with a finer woody and spicy style.
Amber in color, its peppery and toasted nose is delicious. On the palate, the attack is frank, rich and sweet. The finish is long, and gives way little by little to a delicate delicate smokiness, punctuated with vanilla (signature of the aging in American oak barrels).
It is a refined whiskey, which can be enjoyed as an aperitif as well as an after-dinner drink, by amateurs and connoisseurs alike.
